Student Rights & Responsibilities

Student Handbook & Code of Conduct

The Student Handbook and the Code of Conduct, which is included in the handbook, guides students, faculty and staff, to ensure that all members of our community are informed about policies, procedures, rights and privileges.

Before you begin at UArts, take some time to review the information in the Student Handbook, so you are aware of your rights and responsibilities as a UArts community member.

Online Training Requirements

In accordance with the Higher Education Act and in order to ensure the best possible environment for all UArts students, we require each incoming student to complete an online, interactive program aimed at helping students think critically about their activities and behaviors.

Failure to complete the courses by the deadline will result in a hold on your account. This hold will prevent access to grades and registration for classes. Upon successful completion of the courses, the hold will be removed.

As part of our comprehensive prevention efforts, UArts requires all students to complete AlcoholEdu; Sexual Assault Prevention; and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility online training. These online education courses will empower you to make well-informed decisions about issues that affect your college years and beyond. Detailed, step-by-step instructions are available on our website.

Complete the Program

Vector’s online training provides you with a comprehensive foundation of understanding in diversity and inclusion, alcoholEdu and Sexual Assault Prevention.

The program takes about one hour to complete and must be completed by the end of September for those starting in the fall semester, or the end of February for those beginning in the spring.

The course will be open for students at the start of Orientation. Students will receive an email invitation with login instructions to complete the course.

Confidentiality

All responses given in the e-training are strictly confidential; the university will only receive information about the student body as a whole and will never see individual students’ answers.

Providing truthful answers—no matter what they are—will not put you at any risk for repercussions.
