Employment at UArts & Beyond

Federal Work Study

Federal work study is a need-based work-study program that’s based on your FAFSA and the availability of funds on a first-come, first-served basis. You can work up to 17.5 hours per week when classes are in session. Wage levels start at minimum wage and vary by position. Hours can often be arranged to accommodate your class schedule. To apply for work-study positions, you must be able to provide original identification documents: an original Social Security card, a birth certificate or a valid passport. You will not be able to begin working without documentation.

On-Campus Jobs

If you don’t qualify for federal work study, you can still apply for jobs on campus and might be eligible for institutional work study (depending on the funds that are available). Students are not only hired based on need, but also on previous work experience.

Employment for International Students

International students can only work at UArts in on-campus positions. You can search and apply for on-campus jobs through the work-study job board. (A login is needed to access the board.) Contact the student employment coordinator for more information.

You will also need to acquire a temporary Social Security card. To do so, you’ll have to find an on-campus job first and then acquire a temporary Social Security card. (International Student Programs can help you get a card.)
