Registering for Classes & Advising
Before Orientation
If you’re a first-year student, you’ll be administratively registered for your first semester classes by your department or your academic advisor. After your classes are registered, your academic advisor will email you and set up an advising meeting to review and customize your schedule.
Students who accepted their offer of admission and submitted their tuition deposits before April 17 will be registered by May 4.
Students who accepted their offer of admission and submitted their tuition deposits after April 17 will be registered within three weeks of their deposit.
If you’re a transfer student, you’ll get an advising and registration email from the Office of the Registrar once you accept your offer of admission. You’ll be introduced to your program director, who will help you plan and register your first semester schedule. Then you will meet with your academic advisor to build out a full academic plan through graduation.
All emails are sent to your UArts email address. Meet with your faculty advisor, the Advising Center or the Office of the Registrar at any time for additional support.
Tutoring
Tutoring is free and available to all students. Tutors can help you improve your skills in writing; reading; ESL; and other academic and studio areas, including successful classroom strategies and study habits.
You can schedule appointments for advising or tutoring at web.penjiapp.com or by calling or emailing the Advising Center. Learn more about the Advising Center, and get more information about meeting with advisors.
Advising Center
Advising, tutoring and other academic support will help you tackle your classes and learning.
Throughout your time at UArts, you’ll be guided by your faculty advisor and your
academic advisor in the Advising Center. Academic advisors are available year-round to help you
explore your academic options, including majors and minors, internships and studying abroad;
select and schedule classes;
understand your progress and degree requirements;
withdraw from classes; and
manage your academic responsibilities and skills.
